Product Introduction

Introduction and usage

GGD type AC low voltage distribution cabinet is suitable for power plants、 substations、 factories、mine enterprises whose distribution system is with 50HZ AC、to 3150A rated working current, used for power change、distribution and control of power, lighting and power distribution equipments.


GGD AC low voltage distribution cabinet is a kind of new type low-voltage distribution cabinet, designed based on the requirements of the Department of Energy in charge  of the higher level, the majority of electricity users and design department, and with principles of safe, economic, rational and reliable. It is with these characteristics of high breaking capacity, good dynamic thermal stability, flexible electrical program, convenient combination methods, series, practical, novel structure, high level of protection, can be treated as a replacement product of low voltage switchgear assemblies.

Operational conditions

1, surrounding air temperature not more than +40°C, not less than -5°C, average temperature over 24hs cannot more than +35°C

2, installed in indoor, altitude not higher than 2000m

3, surrounding air relative humidity at the highest temperature of + 40 ℃ not more than 50%, at a lower temperature allows a greater relatively humidity( for example, temperature is + 20 ℃, humidity can be 90%), should consider the influence of condensation caused occasionally due to the temperature change.

4,the inclination between cabinet and vertical plane not exceed 5%

5, cabinet need be installed in the place without severe vibration and shock and where is insufficient to corrode electrical components.

6,users can consult with manufacturers if have special request.

2, Scheme for main circuit

Design 129 kinds of schemes for main circuit, totally 298 specifications(not include schemes and specifications derived due to the change of the auxiliary circuit functions).

Schemes for main circuit are selected according to design department and users’ advices, while also add the specific needs of power plant. Rated current is increased to 3150A, which is suitable for 2000kva or less distribution transformers.

In addition, in order to meet the need of reactive power compensation, we design GGJ1, GGJ2 capacitance compensation cabinet with 4 schemes of main circuit and 12 specifications.


3, Scheme for auxiliary circuit

The design of auxiliary circuit can be divided into power supply scheme and power plant scheme. Inside of GGD cabinet has enough room to install secondary components, meanwhile ,NLS also developed a special type LMZ3D current mutual to meet the needs when power plants and users install attached relays for protection.


4, Main bus-bar

Considering users’ concerns of cost –effective, we adopt single row bus-bar for rated current on or under 1500A; if higher than 1500A, we will use double copper bus-bar. Manufacturers produce samples according to this rule and arrange type-test. All lap surfaces of bus-bars are manufactured with tin embossing technology.


5, Choice of electric components

a, GGD is mainly manufactured with domestic advanced components which can be produced in bulk, such as CW, CDW, NW, etc. Meanwhile, we also maintain some old components( such as , ME, DW15, etc.) according to economic, reasonable principles and under the premise of fully considering the feasibility. Never use obsolete products.

b, HD13X and HS13BX series rotary switch designed by NLS is the dedicated component for the special structure of GGD cabinet, changes the operational way and maintain old products’ advantages. It is a utility model of electrical component.

c, According to users’ request, design department can choose to use new-type components which are more advanced or have better performance. GGD cabinet has flexible installation methods, so it will have no manufacturing and installing troubles caused by updating electrical components.

d, In order to further improve the dynamic ability of main circuit, NLS design ZMJ type combination bus-bar clips and insulation supports which are dedicated for GGD cabinet. bus-bar clips are molded with high-strength, high anti-flammable PPO alloy materials. High dielectric strength, good self-extinguishing property, unique structure, just adjust building blocks type inter-blocks, then can be easily combined to single bus-bar clip or double bus-bar clip. Insulation support is sleeve molded structure with low coat and high strength, solve old products’ shortage of creepage distance being not enough.


Structure features

1, main body of GGD AC low voltage distribution cabinet is in the form of universal cabinet, use 8MF cold- formed steel to weld and combine the frame; construction parts and some dedicated parts are supplied matching by those factories who specialize in producing steel, which ensure cabinet’s  accuracy and quality.

Components of general cabinet are designed with the principle of module, totally have 20mm installation holes, general factor is high. Factory can arrange pre-produce. Not only shortens the production cycle, but also improve work efficiency.

2, when design GGD cabinet, we take full considering of cooling issue during the operational process. There are different numbers of cooling holes on the top and bottom of cabinet, when inside components heat, heat is exhausted from top holes, cool air is supplemented into cabinet from bottom holes, form a natural ventilation path from bottom to top in the sealed cabinet , to achieve cooling purposes.

3, according to the modern industrial product design requirements, adopt “golden ratio “ to design cabinet’s shape and each part’s split size, then ensure nice, novel .

4, cabinet door’s shaft type living hinge connect with the architecture, easy to install and disassemble. Embed a mountain-type rubber strip in the door’s flap, there is compression stroke between door and embedding strip when close the door, which avoid a collision of door and cabinet, also increase protective level of the door.

5,meter door which is equipped with electrical components connect with architecture by multi-strand copper wires. Use knurled screws to connect inside installing elements with architecture, the entire cabinet form a complete grounding protection circuit.

6, surface of cabinet is coated by polyester orange baking paint with strong adhesion and good texture. The entire cabinet is honed, avoid the blinding effect, and provide duties a comfortable visual environment.

7, cabinet top cover can be removed when needed, which make it convenient to install and adjust main bus-bar on site. Equip rings on cabinet’s roof corners for lifting and loading.

8, protective degree of cabinet is IP30, users also can choose between IP20 and IP40 according to operational environment.

Installation and use

when the product is delivered to designated place , firstly, pls check its package if it is damaged during the transportation, if you find somewhere is damaged, you must inform relevant departments to check the reason; for the product not immediately installed, you should put it on a suitable place where need match the conditions of normal operation.


1, Installation 

  Product installation need be based on installation diagram, user-self provide base channel steels and bolts; when install the bus-bar, it is necessary to make the flaying surface flat and clean, also need be coated with neutral Vaseline or others, then fixed by bolts.

2, When complete the installation , it should be examined and tested the following projects before put into operation:

a, check surface paint if it is shedding, and if the cabinet inside is dry, clean.

b, if operational mechanism is flexible, if it has phenomena of being jammed and operating force being too large.

c, if connection and disconnection of main electrical equipments and auxiliary contacts are reliable, accurate.

d, if change ratio and wiring polarity of meter and mutual inductor are correct.

e, if connection of bus-bar is well, insulation supports and installing parts are solid, reliable.

f, if auxiliary joints meet the requirements, if core’s specification of fuse is correct , if setting value of relay meets the design requirements, if actions are accurate

g, if connections of electric circuit meet the requirement of electrical diagram

h, if protective circuit series meet requirements

i, use 500v megger to measure insulation resistance value which cannot be lower than one megohm

3, Notices 

Do not install the product beside the wall,  only those qualified persons who have passed professional exanimations can operate, check and repair sided (front) operation, low-voltage distribution cabinet which can be opened on two side to maintain , product maintenance access and door.
